The Alliance for Microfinance in Myanmar is a for-profit and socially-focused financial institution that works to promote social performance management. It is committed to the Smart Campaign's client protection and aims to meet the Universal Standards for Social Performance Management in 2016, as set out by the Social Performance Task Force. Established in 2014, Alliance was established as a joint venture between FIDES of Switzerland and BASIX of India, two leading players in the microfinance sector. Their aim is to contribute to poverty reduction and economic growth in Myanmar.
