Myanmar’s information economy will grow exponentially in the years 2014-2016 with the telecom and internet infrastructure development roll-outs. Telcos like Ooredoo and Telenor are here and have projected close to 40 Million new mobile phone users in these 2 years (up from ~7 Million in mid-2014), half of whom are expected to go online for the first time. These changes will hugely impact the way people in Myanmar generate, consume and exchange information.
Started with the goal of helping native language users access information in an easier and more relevant manner, Bindez is a young team of problem solvers, engineers and natural language processing experts who are building a Burmese language search engine.
